Village Impact is a non-profit organization with the primary objective of improving education in Kenya. One way they do this is through the building of schools, aided by donor funding.
Scope Logo + brand direction.
Rationale The word that served as the overarching inspiration for the logo was “connection”. Through Village Impact, communities, families and children are being connected to the opportunity to recieve education. Donors from all over the world are being connected to these communities. Growth and positive change on a global scale are occurring as a result of these connections.
The logo was designed based around the shape of the letter “V”. In its simplest form, the shape of a “V” is two separate lines coming together to form a point – symbolic of two different worlds coming together. Organic, intersecting lines were then added, inspired by the idea of a ripple, and the organization’s goal of having a “ripple effect”.

My paintings are an exploration of shape, line, colour, texture, and composition. I currently am exploring a primarily neutral colour palette of black, white, grey and silver. I strive to paint loosely, instinctively, and mindfully, using various layers to add dimension and visual interest.

This piece was made using an antique piano keyboard. Using a process involving “liquid light”, and other darkroom techniques, I layered a photograph I took of the Vancouver skyline onto the piano keys.
